The forthcoming September issue of Mikroniek, click here for a preview, is in part dedicated to the first DSPE Optics and Optomechatronics Week (28 September – 2 October 2015). Naturally, there is an overview of the programme of the Symposium and the contents of the two special courses offered during the week. Related articles feature the concept of sensor-based adaptive laser machining using ultrashort-pulse lasers, and the progress in metrology cameras. Other highlights of this issue include the Ceiling Robot (a magnetically suspended planar motor), low-cost smart sensors and the hybrid Laser MicroJet machining technology.
