Actieve geluid- en trillingsreductie met piezo actuator arrays in lichtgewicht panelen

Overmatig geluid van trillende panelen wordt doorgaans gereduceerd door het toevoegen van gewicht. Vaak is het toevoegen van gewicht ongewenst, zoals in auto’s en vliegtuigen, waar het leidt tot een toename van het brandstofverbruik. Actieve panelen kunnen bij een gelijk gewicht leiden tot lagere geluidsniveaus dan standaard passieve panelen. Ook in lichtgewicht construcites voor precisietechnologie kunnen de trillings- en geluidreducerende eigenschappen van belang zijn. Daarbij wordt gebruik gemaakt van piezo-elektrische ‘patch’ actuatoren die leiden tot zeer compacte en dunnen panelen.
