Active chatter control – Factsheet

Bij precisiefrezen treedt onder bepaalde omstandigheden chatter op, een fenomeen dat slechte oppervlaktekwaliteit en hoge gereedschapsslijtage veroorzaakt. Onderzoekers van TNO en de TU/e ontwikkelden een regeling die het dynamisch gedrag van de machinespindel binnen een bepaald toerentalgebied beïnvloedt en daarmee – in theorie – chatter voorkomt. Een proof of concept moet in 2010 aantonen of deze strategie in de praktijk levensvatbaar is.
