Maatafwijkingen, veroorzaakt door afwijkingen in de geleiding en als gevolg van thermische uitzetting, waren voorheen meestal onvoldoende te compenseren. Nu kunnen deze afwijkingen met behulp van een nieuw meetsysteem van HEIDENHAIN worden gemeten en daardoor verminderd.
