Opereren is precisiewerk. Dat wisten we natuurlijk al, maar hoe chirurgen precisietechnologische producten toepassen in hun dagelijkse praktijk is minder bekend. En dat precisietechnologen kunnen helpen om problemen in de operatiekamer op te lossen, is niet alleen leuk, maar ook een fikse uitdaging. Dat kwam aan de orde tijdens de themadag die Mikrocentrum en NVPT op 16 september – samen met TNO,AMC en Medtronic – organiseerden met het doel een ontmoeting tot stand te brengen tussen medici en precisietechnologen. Heel verhelderend, die ontmoeting, want chirurgen vertelden vrijuit over problemen en precisietechnologische oplossingen in hun vakgebied, en over problemen die nog om een oplossing vragen. Een contact dus van twee verschillende werelden met ieder hun eigen cultuur en technologie. Zo’n themadag vraagt beslist om herhaling, maar wel met meer bijdragen uit ons vakgebied.
