Nanobuis als elektronenbron

Nanotechnologie heeft zijn wortels in de natuurkunde en heeft binnen de precisietechnologie nog weinig draagvlak. Toch zijn er voorbeelden waar deze twee vakgebieden elkaar vinden, Bijvoorbeeld bij de kkolstof-nanobuis die fungeert als bron in een elektronenmicroscoop. Welsiwaar is het gebruik als standaard-elektronenbron nog niet aan de orde, maar al wel is gebeleken dat de nieuwe bron helderder en monochromatischer is dan conventionele elktronenbronnen.
