Vervaardiging en metrologie van aluminium freeform-spiegels

TNO Industrie en Techniek heeft met de aanmaak van negen aluminium freeform-spiegels voor het zogeheten SCUBA-2 project een hoogstandje in vormnauwkeurigheid verricht. Samen met NLR en Precitech heeft TNO een betrouwbare methode ontwikkeld voor het aanmaken, meten en analyseren van complexe freeform-oppervlakken. De op een diamantdraaibank toegepaste ‘slow tool servo’ -techniek kan ook worden ingezet voor andere applicaties, zoals spuitgietmatrijzen voor optische componenten, en op andere materialen, zoals non-ferro-metalen en polymeren.
